Since 1889

Eggink is a family business that has focused on growing lily of the valley for generations. From the first steps in 1881 to today’s modern innovations, be inspired by our story of tradition and craftsmanship.

The origins of our story:

‘1889’

In the year 1881, C. Eggink Sr. awoke a love of nature with the cultivation of flower bulbs and the March violets. Just eight years later, in 1889, this passion expanded to include the elegant lily-of-the-valley. This marked the beginning of a century-long passion for this exclusive product. In 1910, sons Chris and Jan took over the helm, allowing the company to flourish further under the name ‘Gebr. Eggink’.

Passed on from generation to generation

We settled in Voorschoten in 1923. In the 1960s, we stopped growing flower bulbs, including the well-known tulip ‘Lucky Strike’, and Koos Eggink focused entirely on growing convallaria. After several moves, including to Sassenheim in 1987, the company was managed by Chris Eggink.

Experience and Innovation: The Engine of Our Success.

In 2020, Erik Willemse (left) took over and we moved to Voorhout. Chris Eggink (right) has remained actively involved on a daily basis ever since, further strengthening our rich tradition. The synergy of Chris’ years of expertise and Erik’s innovative insights forms the soul of a dynamic and progressive culture within our company. Together, we are committed to providing our customers now and in the future with the very best products.
